Dr. Scott Goldberg

Founder & Principal

Our founder and principal, Dr. Scott Goldberg, has served on the faculty at Yeshiva University’s Azrieli Graduate School of Jewish Education for close to two decades, was the founding director of the YU School Partnership (YUSP), and has consulted with countless Jewish Day Schools and Yeshivos in the United States and around the world. He is a teacher and consultant in many areas, including school leadership, governance and finance, strategic planning, multilingual literacy development and assessment, and differentiated instruction, to name a few. In his role at the YUSP, Dr. Goldberg worked closely with schools to develop the quality of their faculty, support the heads of school, promote educational excellence, and protect their financial stability. He is also a sought-after leadership coach for school administrators, employing a unique approach to coaching school leadership teams and boards to ensure a positive and productive school culture and healthy working relationships. Dr. Goldberg applies this varied and extensive experience to deliver unmatched insight into schools’ needs. 

Rabbi Dr. Barry Kislowicz

Senior Director

Rabbi Dr. Barry Kislowicz, Senior Director, serves as a lead consultant and coach. Rabbi Dr. Barry Kislowicz served as Principal and Head of School at Fuchs Mizrachi School in Cleveland, OH for over a decade. Upon moving to Israel in 2016, Rabbi Kislowicz founded the Ministry of Diaspora’s formal schooling initiative designed to improve Jewish day schools across the globe. He also served as Chief Executive Officer for Educating for Impact, a partner of the initiative which supported 19 Jewish communities in Europe by increasing the effectiveness and impact of their day schools. In these roles, Rabbi Kislowicz developed valuable expertise in school change and improvement processes. He takes a holistic approach to enhancing the capacity of school leaders and delivering successful and sustainable change. Rabbi Dr. Kislowicz is a faculty member in the Jewish educational leadership and administration departments at Herzog College in Jerusalem. He holds semicha from Yeshiva University and a Doctorate in Education from Columbia University Teachers College, and has been named a Bronfman Fellow, Wexner Graduate Fellow and Pomegranate Prize winner.

Yael Harari

Director

Yael Harari, Director, serves as a consultant and coach. Before joining SGC, Yael served as the Chief Operating Officer of TalentEducators, a project of Israel’s Ministry of Diaspora Affairs devoted to recruiting, training, and placing Jewish educators across the globe. In this role, Yael counseled school leaders regarding best practices in teacher hiring and retention, professional development, and curriculum mapping. Yael has hands-on experience in education, working as the Director of Overseas Students in the Ein Prat Leadership Academy as well as a teacher of language and literature in the Ramaz School, Yeshivah of Flatbush, and Manhattan High School for Girls. Yael was additionally involved in founding the Shulamith High School for Girls in Cedarhurst, NY, developing curriculum and mentoring teachers.  She holds an MA in Adolescent English Education from Teachers College, Columbia University as well as a BA in English and Psychology from Columbia University. A lifelong learner, she is currently pursuing an MA in Creative Non-Fiction at Bar Ilan University. 

Bayla Oster Kopel

Program Coordinator, Hebrew reading

Bayla Oster Kopel is the Hebrew Reading Program Coordinator at Scott Goldberg Consulting, providing coaching, assessment support, and curriculum development to Hebrew literacy teachers around the country. A Hebrew literacy educator in the Upper West Side of New York City who has piloted Scott Goldberg’s Hebrew Reading curriculum for three years, she is currently completing her Master’s of Education in Teaching Literacy and Elementary Education at Bank Street College for Education in New York. Bayla is passionate about bringing research-based, high-quality teaching practices and materials to the field of Hebrew reading to support all students in learning to read Hebrew – and to support their teachers in helping them reach those goals.

Dr. Sharon Weinstein

Senior Associate

Dr. Sharon Weinstein, Senior Associate at Scott Goldberg Consulting, focuses on strategic planning, curriculum development and pedagogical advancement. 

Sharon comes to SGC with two decades of teaching experience in Jewish and General studies in Yeshiva high schools and summer camps in the U.S as well as seminaries in Israel. Her doctoral research related to spiritual influences of Modern Orthodox teens continues to provide schools and educators across the U.S. with important data to impact their educational decisions.  

Sharon also serves as the Director of International Affairs for the Israel Allies Foundation where she focuses on organizational structure, communications and strategic development of a global pro-Israel network. She is a faculty member at the Lookstein Jewish Virtual Academy at Bar Ilan University. 

Elanna Reiss

Associate

Elanna Reiss serves as an associate and manages the search practice at SGC. Elanna has been involved within the field of Recruiting/Human Resources for many years within both the non-profit and corporate sector. She is successful in finding top talent in the field and is excited to partner with our clients to make the search process as smooth as possible and find the best candidates.

Elanna holds a MS from New York University, where she specialized in Human Resources Management & Development. Her BA is from Rutgers University, where she studied Labor Studies. In her free time, she enjoys volunteering for her Synagogue as a Sisterhood Board Member and for her children’s school where she sits on the Parent Association Board as a Vice President.
